    Memorial Celebration

    On Sunday, May 29 at 11am, there will be a Memorial Celebration to honor our fallen brothers of the Scranton Fire Department. This celebration will be held at our memorial statue, which is located outside of Fire Headquarters on the Mulberry St. side of City Hall. This year we will honor a fallen brother who gave his life more than 100 years ago.

    Monday, May 23 2016 Dear MPFF Sisters and Brothers, Last night, just minutes before the adjournment deadline of midnight, the 2016 Minnesota Legislature passed a supplemental spending bill which included funding for the MN Hometown Heroes Act (MNHHA).

    The Saint Paul Fire Foundation partnered with Summit Brewery to host the 1st annual Fire & EMS day at the brewery.  Despite a chilly day, the event was a great success.  A big thank you to Saint Paul Fire's Ladder 10, Engine & Medic 10, and Engine 8 who all stopped by to give tours of their apparatus.

    Please see the attached letter to Governor Cuomo's office.  The Governor has Bill #A.9531 and #S.7160 before him; he has until the end of May to approve or veto. Many Buffalo Firefighters and others in active public employment would benefit from this bill if passed. Please send your letter in support of these bills as soon as possible; hopefully in a day or two.

    Wallingford Fire Department, firefighters take precautions against work-related illness

    WALLINGFORD — The fire department has recently taken measures to prevent harmful toxins associated with fire responses from affecting the health of firefighters. Trucks and engines were recently equipped with a pack of Rescue Wipes, a wipe designed for firefighters that cleans skin which has been exposed to toxins associated with fires, according to the product’s website.
