Scholarship Award Offered by Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire

DESCRIPTION:

The scholarship shall be awarded annually to a student who plans to enroll as a full time student at a college or university dually accredited by the appropriate regional accrediting association and listed as such in American Universities and Colleges, published by the American Council on Education, 1 DuPont Circle, Washington, DC 20036; and to pursue at such institution a course of study leading to an Associate, Bachelor, or equivalent degree. The scholarship is to be applied to room, board, tuition, books, or laboratory fees and shall be paid directly to the institution on behalf of the student. There shall be a total of three (3) four hundred dollar ($400.00) scholarships awarded.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible, the student must have a strong interest in fire emergency services, maintain a “C’ or better average, be a resident of New Hampshire for his/her junior and senior years of high school, and plan to attend college. Additional criteria to be considered may include extracurricular activities, community service, and awards. Scholarship application also includes the requirements for letters of recommendation, transcript, and letter of acceptance to college or university. 

DEADLINES:

The Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire Scholarship Committee will accept applications from January 1, 2012 until April 28, 2012. All applications MUST be postmarked by midnight on April 28, 2011. All awards will be made and announced by May 17, 2012.
